Carlos Eduardo de Paz
Carlos de Paz is the General Manager of VIP Dispatch. He has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, including private, executive, commercial and cargo air transport. Throughout the years he has quickly escalated from working as Ramp Agent to finally fulfilling his dream of opening his own handling business.
Carlos began his aviation career in 1992 as a Ramp Agent for UPS and was promoted to Office Manager after 6 months. After 1995, Carlos accepted a position as Station Manager in Pacific International Airlines. Later on, he worked as Assistant Operations Manager in DHL Courier Guatemala. In 2000, he accepted a position as Flight Coordinator Manager in Aerodespachos S.A. In 2001 he was promoted to Manager of General Aviation, Charter and Private Flights Division in the same company.
In 2006, he diversified and began his new career as an Air Traffic Controller in “La Aurora” International Airport. He continues to provide his services as an Air Traffic Controller to MGGT.
In 1993, he received Basic training in Dangerous Good and Hazardous Materials with following extensive recurrent training until 2009. In 2006, he completed a Technical Degree in Air Traffic Control in Galileo University. A year later, he completed courses in Ramp Security, Aircraft Cleaning, Aerodrome Training Recurrent, and Customer Services. In later years, he traveled to Mexico, Holland and Denmark to receive Ramp Instructor, Landing Gears for Private Aviation and Flight Planning training respectively. He currently holds Aircraft Dispatcher and Aerial Controller License.
